More Photos Of Man Rescued 80 Feet In The Air

New Castle – Fire Crews were called to the Croda bio-ethanol plant this morning around 9:30 a.m. for reports of an injured worker. Arriving units found that the worker located on one of the plant’s towers and quickly called for the New Castle County’s High Angle Rescue Team.

Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation) was also alerted. While the High Angle Rescue Team was on route crews used a onsite crane and sky-lift to reach the patient.  Shortly after the teams arrival the worker was lowered in a stokes basket using the onsite crane.

Reports from the scene indicate the patient’s condition is not-life threatening. Once lowered the man was treated and transported to the hospital by Holloway Terrace Fire Company ambulance.

Crews alerted Trooper 4 that they would not be utilized.
