Fire Causes Heavy Damage To Newark Home

Newark – At 10:52 pm last evening, Aetna along with mutual aid from Christiana Fire, Singerly Fire Company, and Mill Creek Fire Company – Stations 2&21 were dispatched to the unit block of Montague Road in Beaulieu for a residential fire.

Crews arrived to find fire showing from the Bravo side of a 2-story single family dwelling. A University of Delaware Emergency Care Unit ambulance and New Castle County Paramedics also responded to the scene.

The fire was quickly extinguished and searches were negative. The situation was placed under control in 15 minutes and crews operated for approx. 1 hour. The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is handling the investigation and Deputy Chief Debold had Newark Command.
