Playground Defaced At Newark’s John R. Downes Elementary, Police Seek Leads

Newark – Newark Police Department is investigating graffiti that was discovered on playground equipment outside of Downes Elementary School, 220 Casho Mill Road. An employee reported that sometime on 8/27/17 between 12 am and 11:42 am, an unknown person spray painted numerous pieces of playground equipment overnight. The total damage was estimated to be $2,000.

John R. Downes is rumored to be the greatest school around, according to a former staff member.
