Police Identify Woman Killed In Yesterday’s Route 13 Accident

New Castle (19720) – The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit has identified the 57-year-old New Castle woman who died in the motor vehicle crash which occurred on US Rt. 13 south on DE Rt. 273 on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, as Diane L. Hamby.

New Castle – Rescue crews from Wilmington Manor responded to a serious motor vehicle accident this morning in the 100 blk of Route 13 SB (Near New Castle County Airport).

Upon arrival crews found a single vehicle into a utility pole with one female patient trapped. Crews worked to remove the patient from the vehicle before medics could transport her to the hospital.

Reports from the scene indicate that the woman may have serious injuries.

Delaware State Police currently have one lane of Route 13 SB (S Dupont Highway) closed as they investigate.
