High Water Strands Several Drivers In New Castle This Morning

New Castle – Several morning commuters were stranded this morning after they drove through high water on Airport Road.

This section of the road, near the Sheraton Hotel on I-95, is a well known flood aera. The road is clearly marked with signs warning drivers of high waters but some went through anyway.

State Police and fire crews from the Christiana Fire Company, Station 12, responded to the scene to assist the stranded drivers.

After seeing another car drive through the water an officer in an unmarked vehicle blocked the road.
