Hockessin – Just before 11:00 this morning crews from the Hockessin Fire Company (HFC) responded to White Clay Creek for reports of an injured person.

Arriving crews, under the command of the HFC’s Chief Saienni, responded to the Davis English Trial Head at the intersection of Thompson Station Rd and Chambers Rock Rd.

Upon arrival crews utilizing the HFC Gator entered the trail in an attempt to find the patient. As the crew made their way down the trail the terrain became to difficult to navigate. Crews abandoned the Gator and  and continued in on foot. Rescue personal walked for more than a mile before making contact with the patient.

As the first crew was making its way to the patient, Hockession Command was directing Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation) to the landing zone.

Due to the terrain Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder were ask to respond to assist with manpower, to assist in moving the patient.

As Trooper 4 was landing near the scene medics readied the patient for transport.

The patient was loaded onto Trooper 4 shortly thereafter and transported to Christiana Hospital with what is believed to be minor leg injury.
