Troopers Update Quick Mart Robbery, Clerk Shot

Wilmington – Delaware State Police are currently on scene of a robbery of a Wilmington area convenience store which resulted in the shooting of a store employee, according to police.

Officials said the initial investigation has revealed that at approximately 12:48 p.m. an unknown male suspect with a mask covering his face entered the Quick Mart convenience store located at 103 S. Maryland Avenue, Wilmington. The suspect approached the male clerk at the sales counter displayed an unknown make and model handgun and demanded money, said police. A struggle ensued resulting in the clerk sustaining a gun shot wound to his upper extremity. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction.

The clerk was transported to Christiana Hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and further information will be released as it becomes available.

Wilmington – Delaware State Police are currently investigating a possible robbery/shooting that left one person with undetermined injuries at the Quick Mart at Maryland Avenue (Route 4) and Winston Ave.

The incident occurred shortly before 1:00 pm this afternoon. Witnesses at the scene indicate that there is a heavy police presence in the area.
