Wilmington Man Succumbs To His Injuries After Being Shot

Wilmington – This afternoon Wilmington Police Officers responded to Cedar Street­ and Anchorage Street in reference to a Shot Spotter Notification of gunfire, according to police.

The 28-year-old male victim succumbed to his injuries, according to Wilmington Police.

Officials said arriving police officer’s located an adult male down on the corner of Cedar and Anchorage suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to his upper torso.

The victim was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to the  Christiana Hospital Emergency Room in critical condition.

Several  surrounding blocks of the shooting scene are closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

Shooting suspect reportedly barricaded in home, Wilmington Police tactical team has the home surrounded.
