Weekly Wilmington Shooting Report – Oct 2, 2017 – Oct 8, 2017

Sunday 

On Sunday, 01 October 2017, at approximately 8:45 pm Wilmington Police responded to the unit block of Lower Oak Street in reference to a 22 year old man, who was suffering from gunshot wounds to his right shoulder, groin area, and lower back.

The Victim advised police that he was shot in the 600 block of S. Van Buren Street during a robbery attempt. He ran to Lower Oak Street after being shot.

The Victim was treated on scene by New Castle County paramedics then was transported to the Christiana Hospital where he underwent surgery and is listed in critical condition.

No witnesses were located. There is no suspect information or description.

Monday

On Monday, 02 October 2017, at approximately 3:50 pm, Wilmington Police responded to the Wilmington Hospital in reference to two victims suffering from gunshot wounds that arrived by private vehicle.

One of the victims is a 32 year old male, who sustained a gunshot wound to his right ankle. The other victim is a 28 year old male, who sustained a graze wound to his left calf.

Both victim were treated by medical personnel and are listed in stable condition.

Detectives are currently searching for any witnessess. There is no suspect information, or description.

Wednesday

On Wednesday, 04 October 2017, at approximately 1:48 am, Wilmington Police responded to Van Buren and Pleasant Streets with regard to a SHOT SPOTTER notification.

While on scene and searching for any victims or evidence, officers were advised that a 27 year old male subject had responded to the St. Francis Hospital, suffering from a gunshot wound to his left foot.

The victim was treated for his injury and is listed in stable condition.

The victim indicated that while he was walking he was approached by two unknown male subjects. While engaging in conversation, one of the male suspects shot the victim in the foot.

The suspects fled in an unknown direction.

There is no suspect description.

Thursday

On Thursday, 05 October 2017, at approximately 12:05 am, Wilmington Police responded to the 400 block of Townsend Street for a SHOT SPOTTER notification of several gunfire.

When the officers arrived they were advised that the victim was transported, by private vehicle, to the Wilmington Hospital.

A scene was located.

While at the Wilmington Hospital, a 16-year-old boy was being treated by medical personnel for a gunshot wound to his torso and is listed in critical condition.
