12-Year-Old Boy In Serious Condition After Being Struck By Vehicle

New Castle – Yesterday afternoon, November 20, 2017, at approximately 3:30 hours, New Castle County Paramedics and personnel from the Christiana Fire Company were dispatched to the area of Christiana Road and Airport Road for a report of a pedestrian struck, according to Paramedic Senior Corporal David McKinney, Jr.

McKinney said arriving County Paramedics found a 12-year-old boy in the care of Emergency Medical Technicians from the Christiana Fire Company. The patient was treated on scene for injuries to his head, face and leg after being struck by an automobile.

He was transported to the Emergency Department at Nemours A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children on board an ambulance from the Christiana Fire Company with a New Castle County Paramedic accompanying. The patient was in serious condition at the time of transport.

The Delaware State Police were on scene and are investigating the accident.
