Fiery Crash Closes Barksdale Road In Newark

Newark – Just after 2:00 this afternoon crews from Aetna, Hose Hook and Ladder, along with officers from the Newark Police Department responded to the 1900 block of Barksdale Road for reports of a vehicle crash.

Responding officers reported that the car was on fire.  Upon their arrival, firefighters found the vehicle off the roadway and into the tree line. Crews worked to quickly bring the fire under control.

Reports from the scene indicate that no one was injured in the crash.

Barksdale Road was closed for almost an hour as crews worked to clear the scene.
