Gunman Opens Fire In Texas Church, 26 Dead, 20 Wounded


Sutherland Springs, Texas – At around 11:30 this morning a gunman opened fire on a Texas church service. At least 26 people have been killed in the Sutherland Springs, Texas church, according to Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

Witnesses observed the shooter walking outside the church firing into the building. He then entered the church where he opened fire on the congregation.

A local resident that observed the shooter exiting the building grabbed his gun and engaged the shooter. The shooter dropped his weapon and ran towards his vehicle. The resident then chased him, according to police. The shooter then fled in his vehicle.

Responding officers found the shooter crashed into a nearby ditch, deceased. It’s not known if it was the resident’s shots that killed the shooter or if he took his own life, said authorities.

Police said that many others have been injured. The shooter is dead, according to authorities.

FBI agents from the San Antonio field office have responded to the scene, that is just 30 miles south east of San Antonio.
