Police Id Man Believed To Have Been Shot This Morning, In Critical

Newark – New Castle County Police Detectives have positively identified the injured male as 31-year-old Anthony Phippin of the 3300 block of Stone Place Blvd in Newark, according to M/Cpl. Heather Carter.

Carter said he remains at an area hospital in critical condition. New Castle County Police Detectives continue to investigate the cause of this incident. Further details will be released as they become available.

Early reports from the scene indicated that police were possibly investigating this as a shooting. Police have released few deals regarding the man injures.

Newark – New Castle County Police just released a statement regarding this morning’s shooting investigation.

New Castle County Police are currently investigating the discovery of an injured adult male who was located in the area of Freedom Road and 76th Street in the neighborhood of Valley Wood.  The male has since been transported to a local area hospital and the exact cause and nature of his injuries are being further investigated at this time.

This is still an active and ongoing investigation, further details will be released as they become available.

Newark – New Castle County Police are currently on scene investigating a possible shooting that occurred on Freedom Road, near the Route 7 and Route 40 intersection.

Reports from the scene indicate that police believe someone was shot but no suspect information has been provided. The condition of the patient is not known at this time.

Reports that one patient was transported have not be confirmed. Officers could be seen wearing surgical gloves. It’s unclear if the gloves were for rendering aid to a patient or for evidence collection.
