Police Id Man Who They Say Stabbed His Wife In Wilmington

Wilmington – On Monday, January 29,  2018, at approximately 8:07 pm, Wilmington Police were summoned to 1300 block of  N. West Street in reference to a stabbing, according to authorities.

Officials said upon the officers arrival, they learned that the 68-year-old female victim was transported to the Wilmington Hospital by a neighbor. The victim sustained two, non-life-threatening, stab wounds to her chest, according to police. The victim did undergo surgery and is listed in stable condition.

Police have arrested  Robert Wisniewski, 78, of the 1300 block of  N. West Street, Wilmington.

Officials said that Wisniewski is currently being treated by medical personnel. Warrants are currently on file for his arrest and will be charged with Assault 1st Degree and Possession of a Deadly Weapon During The Commission of a Felony.

The victim and the suspect are husband and wife, according to authorities. Official they are not sure why the incident occurred.
