21-Year-Old Woman Trapped In Car After New Castle Accident

New Castle – At approximately 10:05 Friday morning, New Castle County Paramedics, Wilmington Manor, Holloway Terrace, Minquadale and Good Will Fire Companies were dispatched to the intersection of New Castle Avenue and May Avenue in Swanwyck for a motor vehicle crash with a report of a rollover, according to Paramedic First Class Yvonne Russell.

Russell said upon arrival New Castle County Paramedics found a vehicle turned onto its side and 2 patients. The first patient, 40-year-old male, suffered injuries to his back. The patient was transported to Christiana Hospital via Wilmington Manor Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in stable condition at the time of transport.

The second patient, 21-year-old female, was found confined to the vehicle. Responding fire personnel worked for about 25 minutes to remove the patient from the vehicle. The patient suffered injuries to her legs. The patient was transported to Christiana Hospital via Holloway Terrace Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The patient was in stable condition at the time of transport.

Delaware State Police is investigating the crash.
