Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle In Stable Condition

Greenville – Yesterday afternoon at approximately 12:15 , New Castle County Paramedics and personnel from the Elsmere Fire Company were dispatched to the intersection of Montchanin Road and Kennett Pike, for a pedestrian struck, according to Paramedic Senior Corporal David McKinney, Jr.

McKinney said arriving County Paramedics found one patient that had been stuck by a vehicle, traveling at a low rate of speed. The patient, a 49-year-old male, was treated on scene for a complaint of back pain and a possible pelvis injury.

The patient was transported to the Emergency Department at Wilmington Hospital on board an ambulance from the Elsmere Fire Company with a New Castle County Paramedic accompanying. He was stable at the time of transport.

The Delaware State Police were on scene and are investigating the accident.
