Police: Step-Son Arrested For Stabbing Step-Father

Wilmington – On Sunday, 08 April 2018, at approximately 1:10 am, Wilmington Police were summoned to 905 Maple Street with regard to a stabbing investigation, according to police.

Officials said upon the officers arrival, they made contact with the 46-year-old male victim, who was suffering from a laceration to the chest, approximately 15″ in length. He was treated on scene by New Castle County paramedics, then was transported to the Christiana Hospital where he continued medical treatment.

The suspect has been identified as Angel Figueroa-Rodriguez, 37, of the 400 block of Maryland Avenue, and he is the victim’s step-son.

On Tuesday, 10 April 2018, at approximately 10:00 am, officers located Figueroa-Rodriguez at 905 Maple Street, where the incident occurred. The suspect was taken into police custody, without incident.

Angel Figueroa-Rodriguez has been charged with Assault First Degree and Possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony.

His is currently awaiting arraignment.
