DART Bus Collides With Small Car On Kirkwood Highway, Two To Hospital

Duncan Woods – Delaware State Police are currently investigating a crash that occurred yesterday at the intersection of Kirkwood Highway @ Duncan Road.

At approximately 4:30 yesterday afternoon, Troopers and rescue crews responded to the area to find a small green Kia Soul with heavy damage to the rear and passenger side.

Reports from the scene indicate that the Kia and a DART bus collided, injuring two. One patient from the Kia and one patient from the bus were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to reports.

DelDOT crews also responded to the scene to make repairs to a pedestrian signal pole and street sign that were heavily damaged.

Kirkwood Highway was down to two lanes for approximately an hour while crews worked to clear the scene.
