Troopers Id Two Found Dead In Kent County Home

Hartly- Delaware State Police are releasing the names of the two individuals that were found deceased in their residence yesterday afternoon.

The investigation began at approximately 11:27 a.m. when Troopers were dispatched to a residence on the 4000 block of Arthursville Road for a check on the welfare. Upon arrival two subjects were located in the residence deceased.

The individuals have been identified as 87-year-old John James and his 81-year-old wife, Mary James.

Hartly- Delaware State Police are currently conducting a death investigation in which two subjects were found deceased in a residence.

The investigation began at approximately 11:27 a.m. when Troopers were dispatched to a residence on the 4000 block of Arthursville Road for a check on the welfare. Upon arrival two subjects were located in the residence deceased.

The bodies have been turned over to the Division of Forensic Science where an autopsy will be performed to determine the manner and cause of death. The victims’ identity is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.

The investigation into this incident by the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is continuing. Further information will be released at a later time.

Hartley – Just after 11:30 this morning ambulance crews with the Hartly Volunteer Fire Company, along with Delaware State Police responded to the 4000 block of Arthursville Road, near Beaver Drive, for reports of a shooting.

Delaware State Police are currently investigating. We’re expecting an update very shortly.
