16-Year-Old Shot In The Head Succumbs To His Injuries

Last night’s shooting in the unit block of E. 23rd Street has claimed the life of 16-year-old Claymont boy.

At approximately 7:49 pm, Wilmington Police responded to the unit block of E. 23rd Street for a report of ‘shots fired’. Upon their arrival, they located the boy in the block suffering from several gun shot wounds.

Officers rendered medical aid to the teen until New Castle County paramedic’s arrival.

He was transported to the Christiana Hospital via ambulance. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a few hours later, according to police.

At approximately 8:45 pm, Wilmington Police were in the area of E. 23rd Street whey they heard gunfire in the area, according top authority.

Upon the officers arrival, they located a 16-year-old male who was suffering from a gunshot wounds to his head, leg, and arm.

The male victim was treated on scene by New Castle County paramedics. After, he was transported to the Christiana Hospital.

His condition is unknown at this time.
