Authorities Update Hockessin Rollover Crash That Sent One To Hospital By Air

Yesterday afternoon, at approximately 12:45, New Castle County Paramedics and personnel from the Cranston Heights, Hockessin and Claymont Fire Companies were dispatched to the intersection of Lancaster Pike and Hercules Road for a serious motor vehicle crash, according to Senior Corporal David McKinney, Jr.

McKinney said arriving County Paramedics found the patient in the care of responding fire department personnel. The patient, a 75-year-old male, was the sole occupant of a vehicle that left the roadway and struck a utility pole.

The patient was removed from the wreckage and treated on scene for a possible head injury and medical emergency.

He was transported to the Emergency Department at Christiana Hospital on board Delaware State Police Trooper 4 with a New Castle County Paramedic accompanying.

He was stable at the time of the transport, according to McKinney .

Hockessin – Rescue crews from the Hockessin Fire Company, along with Delaware State Police are responding to Lancaster Pike and Hercules Road for reports of a motor vehicle crash involving a rollover.

Reports indicate that at least one patient is seriously injured.

Trooper 4 is en route and will be utilized.
