Saturday Morning Crash Leaves Teen In Critical Condition

At approximately 2:40 Saturday morning, New Castle County Paramedics and Talleyville Fire Company were dispatched to the area of Interstate 95 Southbound and Concord Pike offramp for a motor vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found the patient, 18 year-old-female, confined to the vehicle. To gain access to the patient the Talleyville Fire Company utilized special extrication equipment.

The patient was confined to her vehicle for approximately 30 minutes, according to Paramedic First Class Yvonne Russell.

Once the  patient  was removed from the vehicle she was transported to Christiana Hospital via Talleyville Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics.

She was listed in critical condition at the time of transport, suffering from injuries to her head, legs and arms.
