Just In: County Police, State Helicopter Search Brookside For Stabbing Victim

Newark – Just before 12:30 this afternoon, New Castle County Police, along with medical crews from Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder and New Castle County Paramedics responded to the 400 block of Shue Drive, in Todd Estates, for reports of a stabbing.

Early reports indicated that the suspect fled the scene after the incident. This prompted County Police to set up a parameter around Brookside as they searched for the suspect. As police search for the individual, they learned that the incident may be as a result of a domestic situation and that the stabbing may have been self-inflicted.

To aid in their search Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation) was dispatched to the location and arrived on scene within minutes. Moments later the man was located in a vehicle nearby the initial scene.

Police have not released the condition of the patient or the extent of his injuries.
