Reports: Masked Gunman Unloads Into Home In Newark’s Piermont Woods Neighborhood

Newark – New Castle County Police are currently investigating a drive-by shooting incident that occurred on West Hanna drive yesterday.

Just before 6:00 on Friday evening, New Castle County Police responded to reports of shots fired in the normally quiet neighborhood of Piermont Woods, just off of Old Baltimore Pike. Upon arrival, officers found several shell casings in the roadway and a home riddled with bullet holes.

Police have not released information regarding the incident but witnesses at the scene reported that a suspect, who was wearing a ski mask, stopped his vehicle in front of the home and fired several roundsĀ at the home before fleeing the scene.

A man who identified himself as the homeowner on our Facebook page said that three people were home during the incident but none of them were injured.

We are working to gather more information about this incident.
