Photos – Firefighters Rescue Dog From Waterfall In Newark

Newark – At around 8:40 this morning a man and his son were fishing on Smalley’s Pond, when the noticed a small dog that was sitting on the dam. The man called 911 at which point the Christiana Fire Company, along with the Good Will Fire Company and New Castle County Surface Water Rescue team responded to the scene.

Teams put boats at the bottom of the waterfall and used another to get to the dog.

After “Sir Barksalot”, the name given to the dog, was rescued, he was handed over to a Delaware Animal Services officer. The officer said that they will work to find the dog’s owner, but if no owner is found the dog will be put up for adoption.
