Stanton – The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 9:39 p.m., Tuesday, August 7, 2018, on DE Rt. 4 eastbound, east of Chestnut St., Stanton.
The pedestrian has been positively identified as Jose Angel, 39, of Wilmington, however, investigators have been unable to locate or contact any family or friends of Jose in order to make the proper notification.
Anyone who has an association with Jose or who may be able to provide information is asked to contact Cpl. J. Breen of the Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit by calling 302-365-8486.

Stanton – The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian that took place Tuesday night, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.
Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 9:39 p.m., Tuesday, August 7, 2018, on DE Rt. 4 eastbound, east of Chestnut St., Stanton. A 2010 Honda Accord, operated by a 37-year-old Drexel Hill, PA man, was traveling eastbound on Rt. 4 in the right lane, east of Chestnut St. A pedestrian, who was initially on the right shoulder of Rt. 4, entered into the right lane of travel, directly into the path of the Accord at which time he was struck by the front right end of the vehicle and thrown onto the windshield, before coming to rest in the roadway. The Accord was brought to a controlled stop and remained at the scene.
The pedestrian, a 39-year-old Wilmington man, was transported to the Christiana Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The initial investigation determined that he was not wearing any reflective clothing, not carrying a flashlight and not utilizing a marked crosswalk. Impairment on his behalf is unknown at this time. Identification is pending the notification of next of kin.
The operator of the Accord was properly restrained and did not sustain any injuries. Impairment on his behalf is not a factor in the crash.
DE Rt. 4 eastbound was closed for approximately 2 hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.

Breaking Report
Stanton – Rescue crews from the Mill Creek Fire Company, along with Delaware State Police and New Castle County Paramedics have responded to Chestnut Street and Mitch Road (Route 4) for reports of a pedestrian struck.
Responding crews found a patient in very serious condition and have transported them to the Christiana Hospital Traum Center.
Area Fire Police and DelDOT have closed Route 4 EB at Route 7.
