Crews Respond To I-95 Vehicle Fire Overnight

Newark – Just before 3:30 this morning, Sunday, November 25, 2018, rescue crews from the Minquas and Christiana Fire Companies responded to i-95 SB in the area of Chursmans Marsh for a vehicle fire.

Upon arrival, Command reported that the vehicle was fully involved.

As crews extinguish the fire, Command reported that three patients were being evaluated. It’s believed that at least two of the patients were transported to the hospital.

This latest vehicle fire came just hours after a pickup truck caught fire on I-495 in Claymont.

That crash occurred at around 6:30, Saturday night, November 24, 2018, Firefighters from the Claymont and Brandywine Hundred Fire Companies responded to I-495 NB at the northern I-95 split for an injury accident.

Upon arrival, crews found that a pickup truck had slammed into a guardrail, taking out a light pole, and bursting into flames.

Crews were able to extinguished that fire, but not before the truck was completely gutted.

Three patients have been transported to Wilmington Hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
