Delaware City Man Charged With Stealing Neighbor’s Packages

Delaware City Police have arrested a man for stealing packages from his neighbor’s doorstep, according to Chief David Baylor.

Baylor said 36-year-old Christopher R. Daniels, 36,  of Delaware City has been arrested and charged with stealing packages delivered to his neighbor’s residence.

The investigation began on November 1, 2018, when a Delaware City resident discovered that three packages that she was supposed to have delivered at her residence by UPS were missing. After contacting the store where the purchased items were shipped from, the victim contacted UPS to track the delivery.

The victim learned the packages had been delivered to her residence in the afternoon on October 31st. Once she was able to determine when the packages were delivered, the victim checked the video system at her residence.

The video was turned over to the Delaware City Police Department. After reviewing the video the Delaware City Police Department was able to positively identify, Daniels, a neighbor of the victim as the suspect who removed the packages from her doorstep, said Baylor.

On Tuesday, November 6, 2018, the Delaware City Police Department arrested Daniels. He was charged with theft and video arraigned before a Judge at Magistrate Court #11. He was released on $500.00 unsecured bond.

Baylor said Daniels was also wanted on multiple capiases by other courts and law enforcement agencies.
