16-Year-Old Found Shot At Royal Farms On Route 40

Yesterday, January 18, 2019, officers from the New Castle Division of Police were dispatched to the community of Wellington Woods for a report of a shooting.

When the officers arrived they found a 16-year-old victim suffering from gunshot wounds to his lower extremities, according to police. He was treated at the scene before being transported to the to a local area hospital.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived on scene and have assumed the investigation.

Officials did not release further details regarding the shooting.

Last nights shooting occurred just blocks from where New Castle County Police say four juveniles raped a 13-year-old girl.
