Troopers: Shoplifter Bites Target Employee, Now Wanted For Robbery

The Delaware State Police are investigating a shoplifting turned robbery in which an employee was bitten by the fleeing suspect, and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 3:59 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2019, at the Target department store, located at 1050 Brandywine Parkway, Wilmington. The pictured male suspect was observed by employees exiting the business with merchandise which he had not paid for, said Austin. When the employee made contact with the suspect outside the business and attempted to recover the merchandise, he was bitten on the hand, added Austin. The suspect then fled on foot towards Naaman’s Road. The employee was treated at an area hospital for injuries sustained in the incident.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Trooper Snook at Troop 1 by calling 302-761-6677.
