Council Approves Assisted Living Facility On Barksdale Road In Newark

Newark –  On Monday, the Newark City Council approved a Seattle-based investment firm’s plan for the former Newark Charter School location, on Barksdale Road. Columbia Pacific Advisors will build a 100,000-square-foot assisted living facility that will house a total of 139 beds once complete.

For the project to move forward, the city had to rezone the property, located next to Handloff Park, from BL (Business Limited ) to AC (Adult Community).
