State Trooper Involved In I-95 Crash In Newark, Traffic Backed Up For Miles

Earlier this afternoon rescue crews from the Christiana Fire Company responded to a motor vehicle accident on I-95 NB near Route 273.

Radio traffic from the scene indicated that the occupants of both vehicles suffered what are believed to be minor injuries.

This crash involves a Delaware State Trooper so it is very likely that the road will be restricted for some time.

One lane on the SB side is restricted due to emergency vehicles in the roadway.

Update:

As of 5:40 pm the crash is still under investigation.

SB traffic is backed up all the way to Route 202 in Wilmington.

NB Traffic is backed up to Route 896 in Newark.

Update:

Crash cleared at 6:29 pm.
