Woman Charged With Stabbing On Clifford Brown Walk

Wilmington Police have arrested and charged a 41-year-old woman in connection with a March 31 stabbing.

On March 31 at approximately 4:45 p.m., police were called to the 900 block of Clifford Brown Walk in reference to a stabbing that had occurred. Arriving officers located a 54-year-old male stabbing victim suffering from a serious injury. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment and has since been released.

Through the course of the investigation, Detective Paul Simonds was able to develop 41-year-old Christine Jones as a suspect and secured warrants for her arrest, according to police. Jones was taken into custody without incident on April 9.

Jones has been charged with assault (first degree) and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $100,000 secured bail.

While en route crews are being told that the assailant may still in the area.

Update: The patient has been placed in the ambulance and now being transported to the trauma center at Christiana Hospital.
