Construction Advisory: Northeast Boulevard Bridge Rehabilitation Project Underway

Beginning this week, DelDOT crews are engaged in a rehabilitation project for the Northeast Boulevard Bridge over the Brandywine River.

There will be intermittent lane closures until May 31.

Beginning on May 31, the bridge will close entirely for structural repairs, sealing and painting, with a reopening targeted for mid-August.

During the bridge closure, DelDOT will have signage posted on Interstate 495 detouring traffic to 12th Street or Terminal Avenue. Motorists traveling south on Northeast Boulevard will be detoured down 12th Street. Motorists traveling north on Church Street will be detoured to 10th Street or Spruce Street.
