Happening Now: Route 40 Shut Down In Elkton Due To Crash, Two Seriously Injured

Elkton – Just before 1:00 this afternoon Cecil County rescue crews responded to the 900 block of West Pulaski Highway for reports of an injury accident.

Upon arrival, crews reported that a sedan had slammed into the back of a dump trump and immediately requested aviation from the Maryland State Police.

Early reports from the scene indicate that the driver of the sedan is seriously injured.

A second vehicle with heavy damage to the front end was found in the median. The driver of that vehicle is reportedly injured as well.

Command ordered Route 40 shutdown.
