Man Shot In Dover Nightclub Parking Lot While Police Were Making Arrest

Dover Police are investigating a shooting that left a 21-year-old man suffering from non-life threatening injuries, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman said at approximately 1:37 AM Saturday, May 4th, 2019, officers from the Dover Police Department were called to Allure Nightclub for a report of a large fight and a subject armed with a handgun. When officers arrived and were arresting a subject with a gun, another fight began in another section of the parking lot.

During that fight, multiple shots were fired, and an onlooker was struck in the hip area. The victim was transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where he was being treated for non-life threatening injuries and was in stable condition. The suspect was described as a black male with dreads, 5’10-11″, skinny build, with a red shirt.
