Troopers: Masked Man Robs New Castle Gas Station

New Castle – The Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a New Castle area gas station that occurred Thursday morning, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 9:45 a.m., Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the Sunoco gas station, located at 285 Christiana Rd., New Castle. A masked suspect entered the business, confronted a female employee behind the sales counter and demanded money from the register, according to Austin. The employee complied with the demand by opening the register at which time the suspect reached in and removed an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect was described as a black male, 5’9”-5’11” tall, 180-195 lbs., wearing all grey clothing and a black mask.
