Just In: Main Road Into Lewes Closed, Pedestrian Struck

Lewes – At 11:48 this morning rescue crews from the Lewes Fire Company, Sussex County Medics and  Trooper 2 responded to  312 E Savannah Road (Business Route 9) for reports of a pedestrian struck.

Upon their arrival, crews reported that one patient was severely injured.  After evaluating the patient crews opted to rush the patient to Beebe Hospital a  few blocks away. Trooper 2 was recalled.

Command ordered Savannah Road between Anglers Road and Cape Henlopen Drive closed.

The road remained closed until around 1:15 pm on Saturday while Lewes Police investigated.

The condition of the patient is not known at this time.
