Just In: Boat Sinks In The Indian River Bay, Two On Board

Millville – At around 10:00 Saturday morning rescue crews from the Millville, Indian River, and Bethany  Beach Fire Companies, along with Trooper 2 (Delaware State Police Aviation) responded to Indian River Bay just west of the India River Inlet for reports of  a watercraft in distress.

While en route crews learned that the vessel was taking on water and was sinking.  At around 10:20 the caller reported that the boat was underwater and two souls were in the water.

Just as that report came in, Trooper 2 arrived on scene and located two people in the water. Within minutes rescue boats arrived on scene and reported that they had rescued one adult and one child from the water.

Both subjects were transported back to shore via rescue boat. No injuries were reported.
