Update: One West Point Cadet Dead, 22 Others Suffer Non-Life-Threatening Injuries

One cadet is confirmed deceased, 20 cadets and two soldiers are receiving medical care at local hospitals.

The accident occurred at approximately 6:45 a.m. while the group was being transported to a training mission via a Light Medium Tactical Vehicle.

The troop carrier, driven by one of the soldiers, rolled-over as it attempted to navigate rough terrain, according to West Point Commandant  Lt. Gen. Darryl Williams.

The accident happened off of off Route 293 at the Camp Natural Bridge training site, not far from the main campus.

The injuries range from facial abrasions to a broken arm and are considered non-life-threating, according to Williams.
