Just before 10:00 last evening, Monday, July 1, 2019, rescue crews from the Clayton Fire Company, along with Delaware State Police and Trooper 4 were dispatched to 2216 Alley Corner Road in Clayton for reports of a motor vehicle accident with ejection.
While en route, crews learned that a Trooper, already on scene, was confirming that a male in his 20’s had been ejected from the vehicle.
Upon their arrival, crews reported that the vehicle was well off the roadway and that Trooper 4 would be utilized.
As Trooper 4 responded to the accident from its base in Middletown, Kent County Medic KM6 requested an ETA for the helicopter. Ten minutes out responded Trooper 4.
As medics worked to treat the patient, Command directed crews to set up a landing zone (LZ) in the front yard of a home next to the crash site.
Soon after Trooper 4 touched down at the LZ the patient was transferred from the ambulance to the helicopter for transport to the Trauma Center at Christiana Hospital.
Police are investigating this accident.
This is a developing story. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
