Three Firefighters Injured During House Fire In New Castle On Friday

New Castle – At 3:34 this afternoon, firefighters from the Goodwill Fire Company along with mutual aid from other area fire companies responded to the unit block of William Penn Court for reports of a house fire.

Upon their arrival, crews reported fire showing as they began their attack on the blaze. Crews immediately entered the home and initiated a search of the home for possible victims inside the home.

Shortly after crews began their attack on the fire reports of an injured firefighter filled emergency radio traffic. Then it was two and then a third firefighter injured.

As command ordered medics to the locations of the injured firefighters he reported to dispatchers that the injuries were minor in nature. One firefighter injuring their ankle.

Not much is known about the injuries other than they are not life-threatening and one firefighter refused treatment.

We will have more information on the injured firefighters and the damage to the home once Fire Marshals issue their report.

This report was delayed to allow first responders time to notify family members.
