Wilmington – Wanted bank robbery suspect Michael J. Wheeler, of Wilmington, has been positively identified as the suspect responsible for an attempted robbery that occurred this afternoon, according to Delaware State Police Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.
Austin said this most recent incident occurred at approximately 4:19 p.m., Thursday, August 8, 2019, at the TD Bank, located at 2502 Marsh Rd. Wilmington. Wheeler who is pictured above while attempting the robbery, approached a teller and demanded cash, however, he fled without obtaining any money, said Austin. The employee was not injured as a result of this incident.

Wilmington – Wells Fargo Bank is offering a cash award of up to $1000.00 for information that leads to the arrest and successful prosecution of 39-year-old Michael J. Wheeler, of Wilmington, who is responsible for three bank robberies that occurred between August 2-5, 2019, one of which was at the Wells Fargo branch, located at 814 Philadelphia Pike in Wilmington, police said Tuesday.

On August 5th, 2019 at approximately 11:00 a.m., the Middletown Police Department was dispatched to the M&T Bank located at 399 E. Main Street in reference to a bank robbery that just occurred, according to Lt. Dawn Misino.
Misino said investigators learned that a male subject entered the bank and presented the teller with a demand note. The suspect then fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
Through investigation and working with the Delaware State Police Detective Division, it was learned that the same suspect committed a similar robbery approximately one hour later at Wells Fargo Bank located on the 800 Block of Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington DE, said Misino.
Michael J. Wheeler, b/m, DOB 12/28/1979 was identified as the suspect in both robberies and subsequently linked to a robbery that occurred on Friday, August 2, 2019 in Felton, DE.

Bellefonte – The Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a North Wilmington Wells Fargo Bank that occurred just after noon today, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.
Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 12:22 p.m., Monday, August 5, 2019, at the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 814 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, when a male suspect approached a teller and produced a note demanding cash. The teller complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect, who was last seen fleeing on foot, northbound on Philadelphia Pike. The teller was not injured as a result of the incident.
This same suspect is believed to be responsible for two other robberies that have taken place at banks in Delaware since Friday. The first occurred on Friday, August 2, at the WSFS located on Irish Hill Rd. in Felton, with the second occurring at approximately 11:06 a.m., on today’s date, at the M&T Bank, located at 399 E. Main St., in Middletown, which is being investigated by the Town of Middletown Police Department.

Detectives from the Delaware State Police and the Middletown Police Department are continuing to work in conjunction with the F.B.I. on this active and ongoing investigation.

Wilmington – Delaware State Police(DPS) are currently investigating a bank robbery that occurred around noon on Monday at 814 Philadelphia Pike in Wilmington.
Trooper 4 and K-9 Units have also been deployed in the area.
