Dover – The Delaware State Police are attempting to locate 28-year-old, Anthony P. Taylor of Dover, who is wanted in connection with a shooting that took place at a Dover area Royal Farms on Saturday afternoon, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.
Austin said the initial investigation has determined that at approximately 1:07 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2019, Taylor was seated in the front passenger seat of a vehicle that was parked in a lot at the Royal Farms, located at 6 W. Lebanon Road in Dover.
While seated in the vehicle Taylor was approached at his door by a 33-year-old male subject, who he had a history of altercations with. The male subject opened the door to the vehicle and a verbal altercation ensued between the two, during which the male punched Taylor. At this time Taylor produced a handgun and fired one round striking the male subject, according to Austin.
After being shot the male subject fled to an awaiting vehicle, operated by an acquaintance, who then drove him to an area hospital, where he was treated for a single gunshot wound to his upper torso. After the shooting Taylor moved to the driver’s seat of the vehicle he was seated in and fled the area, according to Austin.
The investigation also determined that the 28-year-old female who was originally the driver of the vehicle that Taylor was seated in, had exited the vehicle during the altercation in an attempt to intervene and sustained minor injuries as a result of being struck by debris created when the round was fired.
The vehicle Taylor fled the scene in has been recovered, however, Taylor is still at large.
Warrants are currently on file charging Taylor with one count each of Assault 1st Degree, Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited and Reckless Endangering 1st Degree.
Taylor who is pictured in the above photo from 2017, is described as being 5’10” tall and weighs approximately 160 lbs.
