Fire Guts New Castle Home Tuesday Morning

New Castle – Just after 1:00 this morning firefighters from across New Castle County responded to the unit block of Castle Hill Drive for reports of a residential structure fire.

While en route to the scene crews learned that neighbors were reporting that the house was fully engulfed by fire. Arriving police confirmed that the home was fully involved.

Upon their arrival, crews reported heavy fire showing from the homeĀ and trees in the back yard.

As crews began their attack on the fire, Command reported that they had a well-advanced fire and they were setting up for defensive operations. The fire would be fought from the outside.

Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control after about 20 minutes.

Fire Marshals were on scene investigating the incident.
