Five Homes Damaged By Fire Near Lewes On Monday

The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating last night’s fire near Lewes, Delaware that damaged five homes, according to Michael Chionchio Assistant State Fire Marshal.

Chionchio said the blaze, reported shortly after 8:30 pm, occurred in the 35000 Acadia Lane in Coastal Club. The Lewes Fire Department responded to the report of a house on fire.

State fire investigators were called to the scene and are currently searching for the fire’s origin and cause. Heavy fire damage occurred to one dwelling and four other homes were damaged by exposure, said Chionchio. There were no reported injuries.

Heavy fire damage was estimated to exceed $750,000. This fire remains under investigation.
