Troopers Investigating Robbery At Claymont Circle K

Claymont- The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a Claymont business on Friday morning, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Juanita Huey-Smith.

Huey-Smith said the incident occurred at approximately 2:54 a.m., September 13, 2019, at the Circle K, located at 698 Naamans Road. The suspects, who had their faces concealed and one being armed with a knife, approached two employees in the store and demanded cash from the register, said Huey-Smith.

The employees complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspects. Both suspects then removed tobacco products from the store and fled on foot eastbound. The employees were not injured as a result of the incident.

The first suspect was described as a black male, 5’8”, 165 pounds, wearing dark clothing and a light-colored fabric covering his face.

The second suspect was described as a black male, 5’10”, 155-160 pounds, wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and light-colored pants, a light-colored fabric covering his face and armed with a knife.
