The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating yesterday afternoon’s fire near Lincoln, according to Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael Chionchio.
Chionchio said the blaze, reported shortly after 12:30 pm, occurred at the Ashley’s Christian Center located in the 19000 block of Young Lane off of Greentop Road. The Ellendale Volunteer Fire Company arrived on the scene with an active fire inside the building.
State fire investigators were on scene searching for the fire’s origin and cause yesterday. There were no reported injuries. Damage to the interior of the building is being estimated at $10,000. The building was not occupied when the fire was discovered.
The cause of this fire remains under investigation.
