Milford Police Drug Unit Makes Multiple Arrest In Proactive Operation

On Wednesday, October 23, 2019, the Milford Police Department’s Drug Unit conducted a proactive patrol in the downtown area, Academy Apartments, and Brightway Commons, according to Sgt. Robert Masten.

Masten said during the operation, officers made a traffic stop in the area of North Walnut Street and Northeast 8th Street. During the stop, three individuals were contacted and it was discovered that all three occupants were wanted.

During the stop, police learned that Ashley Caraballo, 34 of Milton, was in possession of heroin and was wanted by the Justice of the Peace Court #2. Caraballo was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #7, where she was released on her own recognizance.

A second person contacted during the stop was Joey Caraballo, 35 of Lewes. Caraballo was found to be wanted by Sussex County Court of Common Pleas. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution following his presentment at the Justice of the Peace Court.

The third person contacted in that stop was Samantha J. Montgomery, 26 of Milford. Montgomery was found to be wanted by Kent County Court of Common Pleas and Sussex County Superior Court. She was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution following her presentment at the Justice of the Peace Court.

The next individual contacted during this operation was Antione Sturgis, 36 of Milford. Sturgis was contacted in Bicentennial Park and found to be wanted by the Kent County Family Court. He was released and scheduled to appear at a later date after being presented at the Justice of the Peace Court.

Anthony Rayne, 53 of Milford, was contacted by officers in Brightway Commons. Rayne was found to be wanted by the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas. He was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution.

The final person contacted was part of an investigation into an ongoing illegal activity in the parking lot of Academy Apartments in the 200 block of North Street, said Masten. Shaquel D. Bowe, 26 of Felton, was contacted and found him to be in possession of a handgun and heroin. according to Masten.

Bowe was also found to be wanted by the Kent County Court of Common Pleas, Kent County Superior Court, and Sussex County Family Court. He was charged with Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, two counts of Possession of a Firearm by Person Prohibited, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon. He was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $42,200.00 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution.
