Troopers: Robbery Victim Catches Up With Suspects, Tells Them To Get In His Car

Dover- The Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at a Royal Farms parking lot last evening, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the incident occurred on October 8, 2019, at approximately 7:15 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the Royal Farms parking lot, located at 6 W. Lebanon Road, Dover, for a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was learned that a male victim was in his vehicle when he was approached by two suspects who asked to use his cell. The victim agreed to allow the suspects to utilize his phone and the two suspects entered the victim’s vehicle.

After obtaining the victim’s phone, the suspects exited the vehicle and began to run towards the west side of the Royal Farms. The victim was able to catch up to the suspects at which time he advised them to get back into his vehicle while they use his phone. The suspects proceeded back into the vehicle when one of the suspects engaged in a physical altercation with the victim, according to Jaffe. Both suspects again exited the vehicle and fled the area on foot. The victim did not sustain injuries as a result of this incident.

The suspects were described as black males approximately 20 years of age.
